Men's Soccer Named 2012 Orange Empire Champions

Golden West men's soccer has been named the 2012 Orange Empire Conference champions after a record setting season for the Rustlers.

Since 1994, Santa Ana has reigned over men's soccer in the OEC winning an impressive seventeen seasons in a row. But the 2012 men's soccer team of Golden West finally derailed their victory train.

Finishing their overall season (16-1-3) and (13-0-1) for the conference The Rustlers left it all on the field, and their hard work paid off. The team ranked No. 3 in the state CCCAA poll, and kept the No. 1 ranking for southern California.

For the first time in Golden West history, the men's soccer team has finished No. 1 both in the OEC and the CCCAA. Thanks to the leadership for head coach Alex Gimenez and his coaching staff, the men now look to play in the Socal Regional Championships on Tuesday, November 20th
