Men's Soccer Advance To State Championship

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Men's soccer faced off against No. 5 in the south, Chaffey College Saturday in the third round of the regional soccer contest. Golden West defeated Chaffey 2-1, and they now advance to CCCAA State Championships with the No. 1 seed in the south.

Just ten minutes into the game clock, and Golden West's Max Tallbert found the goal, with an assist from Cesar Cruz-Martinez . Chaffey responded midway through the first half, with a goal from Chaffey's Eduardo Orozco to tie the score. Jose Ramirez scored for Golden West, with the assist from Nathan DaRosa to take the lead for the rest of the game. After the half, Nathan DaRosa scored, Jaime Rios had the assist on the last scoring play of the game.

The men ended their contest for the No. 1 seed in the south, and will now advance to the CCCAA State Championship at Mt.SAC. Golden West will face off against the No. 2 team in the North, City College of San Fransisco at 4pm on Friday, Nov. 30th.
