The GWC men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season while playing Oxnard College, in Oxnard, CA. The Rustlers started slow and found themselves down 1-0 in the 23rd minute. Both sides continued to battle into the half with Oxnard retaining their one goal lead.

After some half time adjustments, the Rustlers came out strong and tied the game when Justin Funes attacked the defense and found Noe Corona through to goal in the 60th minute. Noe calmly collected the pass, picked his head up, and passed the ball into the low far corner. However, the tie was short-lived as Oxnard was, again, able to take the lead just four minutes later when one of their players got on the end of a loose ball in the box off a cross. Oxnard was able to holdout for the remainder of the game to get the 2-1 victory.

The Rustlers look to bounce back at home this Friday, September 6th, against El Camino at 3:00pm
