Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers (2-1) got their first shut out of the season today with a hard earned 1-0 win over the visiting El Camino College (0-1-2).The Rustlers dug in defensively and gave El Camino very little opportunities on goal through their high pressure and movement as a team. Great defensive efforts by Humberto Irra in the midfield and Miguel Hernandez with William Lane behind him in the defense.  

The two teams battled it out the first half where, despite their efforts, neither team had a goal to show for it. At the half, some adjustments were made and the Rustlers continued to press a worn out El Camino. The Rustlers continued to pressure until, in the 81st minute, Fidel Nieves was able to find Jaime Rios, who struck a beautiful volley past the El Camino goalkeeper.

The Rustlers head down to San Diego for their next game against San Diego City College on September 10th at 1pm.
