Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers (5-6-1, 2-2-1) found their net connection today, which saw them record a 3-0 win against the visiting Irvine Valley College.

The Rustlers dominated the play from the beginning with a majority of the possession as well as several chances on goal. In the 45th minute Golden West broke the deadlock with a beautifully headed goal by Hector Villapando from a ball played out by Goalkeeper Sebastian Palacio. The goal just before the half re-energized the Rustlers, coming out even stronger in the second half.

In the 64th minute Max Hubert challenged for a header, finding Justin Funes through to put through to goal. Justin calmly collected the ball and passed it into the back of the net to put the Rustlers up 2-0. The final goal came in the 82nd minute when Lazaro Santos dribbled into the box and beat several defenders before finding Noe Corona with a dropped pass that Noe crushed first time into the roof of the net.

The Rustlers looked to build upon this victory on Friday as they travel to face NorCo at 3pm.
