Men's Soccer Soars Past Cypress

Men's Soccer Soars Past Cypress

Cypress, Calif. - The Rustlers (8-7-2, 5-3-2) visited league opponents, Cypress College (3-11-3, 1-8-1)  and played strong from the opening whistle.

Golden West came out ready to play and created a flurry of goals against the Chargers. The goals started in the 19th minute and stayed steady up until the final whistle. Andrew Arredondo, Alvin Ballesteros, Noe Corona, Danny Stagnaro, Orlando Orrellana (2), and Max Hubert all found the back of the net for the Rustlers in their 7-0 away defeat of Cypress college.

The offensive firepower was balanced well by a very strong defensive effort from the entire team, limiting Cypress to only 5 shots the entire game. The most dangerous chance came in the final minutes of the game when Cypress was awarded a penalty kick. However, Kevin Cabrera kept his composure, read the shooter, and made a huge save to keep the clean sheet on the day.

The Rustlers look to avenge their earlier loss against Orange Coast College next, when they host OCC at 3pm on November 5th.
