Rustlers Run the Show Against Norco

Rustlers Run the Show Against Norco

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers came away on the positive side of a 9 goal shoot out against Norco (7-12-1, 2-10-1). Golden West (10-8-2, 7-4-2) struck early and often with 6 goals in the contest finishing the game 6-3.

Going into the half, Golden West saw themselves with a comfortable 3 goal lead off of goals by Juan Medina, Max Hubert, and Orlando Orrellana. They saw that lead reduced in the 60th minute when NorCo found the back of the net off of a defensive error. The Rustlers quickly took their lead back to 3 when Noe Corona found Josh Garcia through to goal for a 1v1 with the goalkeeper that Garcia calmly finished.

The 76th minute saw NorCo again reduce the deficit when a penalty was given, and finished, for a foul inside the box. Garcia, again, found himself through to goal from an Orrellana pass and placed the shot just past the goalkeeper. NorCo scored their last goal in the 82nd minute, and had a chance minutes later from another penalty, but goalkeeper, Kevin Cabrera, was up to the challenge and made a great diving save to keep NorCo at 3 goals. The game was completely put to bed when Miguel Hernandez found Gabriel Barriga through on goal in the 90th minute to end the contest with a score of 6-3.

The Rustlers have their final league game on Friday November 15th at 3pm at home against Santa Ana College as the Rustlers look to secure a spot in the post-season.
