Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers returned to their winning ways with a 3-2 against the visiting Cuyamaca College.

The rustlers were stunned early with an own goal in the 4th minute, putting them down 1-0 from the start. The Rustlers stuck to their game plan and were able to find the equalizer in the 37th minute as Nathan DaRosa was able to pounce on a defensive error by Cuyamaca. Cuyamaca regained the lead just before the halftime whistle to make it 2-1 going into half.

With some reorganization at halftime, the Rustlers came out energized and scored again when Alex Valezquez was able to redirect a ball driven into the box by Nate DaRosa in the 48th minute. Both teams battled back and forth before the Rustlers were able to get the go ahead goal off of a cross by Jonathan Canales that was flicked just past the goalkeeper by Justin Funes in the 80th minute. The Rustlers were able to hold on to their lead for the remainder of the game to increase their record to 2-1-2. The Rustlers now prepare for their last preseason game against El Camino College-Compton on Tuesday September 23rd.
