Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers made their strike early and kept a clean sheet for a 1-0 home victory against Orange Coast College. The Golden West team is currently ranked No. 1 in the Orange Empire Conference.

The Rustlers (7-2-2, 4-1) came out strong and put the pressure on Orange Coast (3-4-4, 2-2-1) from the first whistle. They were finally able to beat the stubborn Pirate defense in the 11th minute when Jean Cabrillo beat his man and put a cross in to Adonis Robles, who calmly poked the ball just past the OCC goalkeeper.

The game struggled to take off from there due to several small fouls against both teams disrupting the flow. The score remained 1-0 as both teams entered they broke for halftime. The second half saw more of the same, as both teams were fighting to find the next goal. The Rustlers created several chances, but we're not able to get past the OCC goalkeeper who put in a strong performance all game.

The final whistle blew and the Rustlers came away with the well-deserved win. The Rustlers on Friday (10/16) as the travel to Irvine Valley College and look to extend their winning run.
