Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West (3-1) mens soccer team edged Compton College (2-1) 1-0 in a highly physically matchup. 

In a high intensity matchup that saw seven yellow and two red cards, the Rustlers were able to find a way to win late in the second half. Ronaldo Escudero emphatically celebrated with teammates after he scored a goal in the 77th minute that was assisted by Erick Gomez to give the Rustlers a 1-0 lead. Golden West offense kept the pressure on all game as they were able to fire nine shots on goal compared to Comptons one.

Next: The Rustlers will travel to Cuyamaca Tuesday September 5th for a 4pm kickoff.
