Rustlers Return to Form with Shutout Victory

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The offense came alive for the Golden West (4-2-2, 1-1-1) men's soccer team as the visiting Norco College Mustangs (2-4-2, 1-2) were shutout 4-0.

The Rustler's got it going early when Ronaldo Escudero scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Noel Gonzalez to take the lead 1-0. Later in the half Julio Garcia netted a pass from Martin Rafael in the 37th minute to extend the lead going into halftime 2-0. After the break things slowed down for a bit until Gonzalez was taken down in the 18yd box and awarded a pentaly kick which he drilled past the mustangs keeper to make it a 3-0 lead.

For good measure Victor Roberto scored in the 83rd minute thanks to a beautifully timed pass from Michael Godinez to cap off a 4-0 victory. It's the Rustlers third shutout victory of the season and second most goals scored in a game.

Next: Golden West will travel to El Camino Friday September 22nd, start time at 4pm.
