M Soccer: Defense Holds Strong, Offense Struggles

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The 2018 Golden West College men's soccer program opened their season with a 0-0 tie to Cuyamaca College on Tuesday evening.

The Rustler's defense was stout against Cuyamaca's offense as they only allowed three shots all match. The ball stayed in the middle of the field for majority of the match as both offenses struggled to create opportunities. The lone shot on goal for the Rustlers came later in the second half off the foot of Alan Samano, who kicked it well, but right at the Cuyamaca goalkeeper.

Goalkeepers Misha Marson and Slater Kucera for Golden West combined for the shutout as each goalkeeper played an entire half in goal.

NEXT: The Rustler's will travel to Compton College on Friday, August 31st for a 2pm start.
