Huntington Beach, Calif. - Sophomore Ricky Briseno continues to rack up the points this season, he netted two goals and added an assist in the 4-1 victory over visiting Santiago Canyon.
With the win the Rustlers stay undefeated with their ninth win overall and fifth Orange Empire Conference win, Santiago falls to 4-7-2 overall and 1-3-1 in OEC play.
The Hawks got on the scoreboard first to an early 1-0 lead, that was enough motivation for the Rustlers to take control of the match. Golden West would score the next four goals en route to their 4-1 win. Briseno's two goals lifted him to a team leading nine goals on the season with five assists, good for 23 points. Briseno currently leads the OEC in goals scored, total points, and shots taken.
Wilbert Loredo-Suarez and Sora Ishikawa netted the other two goals for Golden West. The Rustlers will be on the road to battle confernence foe, Santa Ana College for sole possession of first place with a win on Friday, October 22nd at 3pm.
