
The city of Santa Rosa will host the 2025 Community College Swimming and Diving State Championships April 30-May 3. The action will take place at the Kathryn J. Kettler Pool at the Quinn Swim Center. Golden West College is rated as one of the top ten men's programs in the meet.
The Rustlers will be sending ten swimmers to the competition. Jake M. Kiss is seeded first in the 400 individual medley and is also expected to medal in the 200 IM and 200 back.
Ryan Novak is seeded second in both the 500 free and the 1650 free and will also be a factor in the 200 free. Teammates Jack Wright, Daigo Fujita, Taylor Juarez and Joao Goncalves will all be swimming three individual events as well. Boston Frost qualified for the 100 IM. Additionally with the help of James Smith, Gavin Little and Bobby Wright, Golden West will be swimming all five relays over the three days of swimming competition,
Head Coach Tracy Maurer is optimistic despite the nine-hour bus ride to the site. "We had a fantastic conference meet with great racing among the other Orange-Empire schools to prepare us for what we will meet this weekend. Additionally, we have an almost entirely freshman crew so this experience will be good for next year as well".
