Men's Volleyball Drop Santa Barbara in 3

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers (2-1) made quick work of their match against Santa Barbara City College (2-2) in a 3-0 match. Golden West started strong and held the lead for the first two matches, and only trailed by a few point in the early part of the third set. The final match scores 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

The first set established the Rustlers dominating pace, sending the Vaqueros scrambling to recover the ball. Outside hitter Phil Lopez led his team with 14 kills, 3 block assists, 3 digs and with 15 points scored, for the Rustlers to the win. 

Golden West lost little momentum going into the second set, sophomore Jose Ulloa sent over an ace, had 6 kills, 1 solo block as well as 2 assists and scored a total of 9 points for the Rustlers over the match.

The Rustlers and the Vaqueros traded points at the start of the third set, but Golden West never let the lead slip out of their grip and in the end, pulled away and finished the game with the same intensity they started the match with.
