Rustlers Take it in Three

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West saw their first win in straight sets for the season against a tough LA Pierce (25-17, 25-22, 25-19) at home.

The Rustlers (4-2) started the match strong with a kill from middle back Berton Peyton. Peyton would deliver 6 kills of 11 swings for the night along with putting up 3 block assists. Golden West would keep a narrow lead throughout, doing their best to wrangle one of the best in the state, Pierce's Daniel Jacobs.

Coming up big with the kills, Jared Chasse sent an impressive 12 kills over the net with a total 20 attempts. Garrett Covey finished the night with 21 assists, 7 kills and 3 block assists. Golden West's defense dug in, and with Jarrett Neal tallying 18 digs on the night, the Rustlers found their winning rhythm.

Golden West will travel up the coast to Santa Barbara Friday, Feb. 21st for a 6:00pm game.
