Rustlers are Swept on Sophomore Night

Huntington Beach, CA - The Golden West College men's volleyball team bade farewell to its departing sophomores Wednesday, but visiting Fullerton College spoiled the send-off.

In a repeat of the earlier meeting between the Orange Empire Conference foes, the Rustlers fell in three sets.

Golden West (8-7), currently ranked eighth in the state in the most recent California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll, lost to the sixth-ranked Hornets, 21-25, 16-25, 16-25.

Sophomore Kysen Olsen had four kills to lead the Rustlers. Freshman Sterling Miles (Mater Dei) had four kills and two digs, freshman Shilo Chow (Foothill High/Nevada) tallied seven assists and a dig and freshman Reid Harrison (Long Beach Poly High) had five assists with two digs.

Golden West finishes it regular season with road matches at Irvine Valley College on Friday and at Santiago Canyon College on Wednesday, April 12.
