Rustler's Experience Tough Loss to #1 Ranked LBCC

Huntington Beach, CA  ‑ The Golden West men's volleyball team got a glimpse of the top of the volleyball world Wednesday, but the view wasn't pretty.

The Rustlers hosted Long Beach City College, the-top ranked team in the state in the California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll. Golden West, listed for consideration outside the Top 10 rankings, fell in three straight sets, 11-25, 14-25 and 15-25.

The Rustlers (0-2) were led by sophomore Josh Kim, who tallied six kills and five digs.

Freshman Enzo Boggio (Schurr High) had three kills with a team-high 17 assists and two digs, sophomore Kevin Lujan had three kills, two digs and a service ace, sophomore Constantin Tolentino added a team-high nine digs and freshman Tomas Beralas contributed three kills, two digs and the lone block for Golden West. Freshman Luke Davis (Fountain Valley High) chipped in five kills.

The Rustlers play host to ninth-ranked Antelope Valley College at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9.
