M Volleyball: Extends Win Streak to Five with Sweep

Huntington Beach, CA  ‑ The Golden West men's volleyball team continued its winning ways with a three-set sweep over visiting Palomar College in a nonconference match Friday.

After dropping their first three matches of the season, the Rustlers (5-3) are in the midst of a five-match winning streak – all of them coming via clean sweeps. Golden West vaulted into the California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll, coming in last week at No. 10. This victory could see the Rustlers rise even further in the polls.

Sophomore Josh Kim was the lone Golden West player who needed to tally double-digit kills (12) in the 25-17, 25-9, 25-15 victory that lasted less than two hours. Kim added three digs and two assists to his scoring line.

Sophomore Constantin Tolentino tallied six kills and three digs, freshmen Jason Carroll (Mater Dei) and Enzo Boggio (Schurr High) each had a team-high 13 assists. Freshman Luke Davis (Fountain Valley High) had four kills and a block and sophomore Kevin Lujan added a team-high five digs.

The Rustlers host Moorpark College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7.
