M Volleyball: Earns a Tough Victory in Four Set

Huntington Beach, CA  ‑ The Golden West College men's volleyball team eased the pain of losing five consecutive matches with a tough, four-set win over Santiago Canyon College on Friday in an Orange Empire Conference match.

The host Rustlers dropped the first set, but swept the next three to earn their first conference victory of the 2018 season in a 28-30, 25-19, 25-17, 25-23 marathon match.

Freshman Enzo Boggio (Schurr High) had a team-high 26 kills with nine digs and six assists to lead Golden West (6-9, 1-4). Sophomore Constan Tolentino added 12 kills and 10 digs and freshman Jason Carrol had a team-high 50 assists, 15 digs and two kills and a service ace.

Freshman Luke Davis (Fountain Valley High) tallied 10 kills, six assists, three digs and a block, freshman Mix Fixa (Esperana High) had three kills and 10 digs, freshman Adrian Flores added 15 digs and sophomore Jacob Kemp recorded eight kills and two digs for the Rustlers.

Golden West plays host to Irvine Valley College in its home finale at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 6.
