Match Recap: Golden West, the top ranked team in the state and No.1 seed for the Southern California Championships, showed they are the team to beat as the Rustlers (27-2) pounded #8 seed Orange Coast, 15-6, in a quarterfinal match at the Riverside City College Aquatic Center. With the win, Golden West advances to the semifinals tomorrow, Saturday, November 12 against #5 Grossmont at 8:30am. Golden West scored the first four goals of the match and seven of the first eight to take control of the match. After two quarters of play, Golden West had built a 8-3 lead and extended it to 12-3 after three quarters. The Rustlers got five goals from Bero Rusz, and goalie Garrett Speed stopped nine Pirate shots. Orange Coast finishes their season 16-9.
