Top-seeded Golden West College slowly pulled away from Diablo Valley College in the second men's semi-final game, and posted a 14-8 victory.
The win sets up an All-Southern California championship on Saturday, with the Rustlers (30-2) facing Long Beach City College at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Golden West handed the Vikings a 9-8 overtime loss in the Southern California Championship game a week ago.
In their win over Diablo Valley, Bero Rusz scored six goals for the Rustlers, who capitalized on their counter-attack to take an 8-5 lead into halftime.
Goalkeeper Taylor Lapin posted 15 saves in the win, while Golden West had six different goal scorers on the day.
Diablo Valley, champions of the Big 8 Conference allowed three straight goals to fall behind, 4-1 in the first half, and never had an answer for Rusz and his teammates.
