The Rustlers routed Riverside City College 14-6 to be crowned Orange Empire Conference Champions. This is the 42nd conference title, 24th consecutive Conference Championship, for Golden West's men's water polo team. With the win, Golden West secures the No. 1 seed into the Southern California Championships.

Golden West jumped out in the first quarter on a 4-0 run, Riverside would get on the board late in the first and the Rustlers had a 5-2 lead at the end of the period. During the second quarter, the Rustlers steamed forward with another 4-1 surge expanding the lead to 9-3 at half. 

Golden West was in control the entire match, holding off the Tigers in their third quarter surge where they outscored the Rustlers 3-2.  At the end of three, Golden West lead 11-6. As the final buzzer sounded, the Rustlers were up eight goals on Riverside, securing the win and the Conference Championship. 

When asked about his team's performance, Coach Taylor remarked, "We are proud of our guys and the legacy for GWC water polo...these men work hard and are ready to play next weekend"
