Sacramento, Calif. - The California Community College Athletic Association is announced Golden West College Men's Water Polo Team as the recipient of the 2011-2012 Scholar Team Award.  The Rustlers earned this award for their overall athletic achievement during the 2011-2012 school year with a team GPA of 3.25.  In addition to their success in the classroom, the Rustlers went 29-1 on the season winning the Orange Empire Conference Championships, Southern California Championships and the California State Championships.

Eight of their sophomores transferred to 4-year Universities to further their education and continue their athletic careers.  Golden West Water Polo has won 22 State Titles, 27 Southern California Championships, and an unprecedented 42 Conference Championships.
