Golden West Soars Over Eagles

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustlers redeemed themselves with a 12-11 victory over Concordia Friday afternoon. Golden West lost to Concordia earlier this month in a 13-7 decision.

Fletcher Norseen won the sprint for Golden West giving the Rustlers the first possession of the game. Moments later Alex Gonzlez put one past Concordia's goalkeeper Michael Skinas giving the Rustlers their first lead of the game. On the next offensive possession, Sean Grab extended the lead 2-0. The Eagles responded with a goal by Wyatt Woodward. The first period came to a close with the Rustlers up 2-1.

At the start of the second quarter Concordia tied the game up 2-2, and slowly pulled ahead of Golden West. Concordia maintained their narrow lead for the next two quarters as the Rustlers and Eagles traded goals for most of the game.

The Rustlers proved to be relentless as they came back from being two goals down at the start of the fourth quarter and went on a 5-2 surge to end the game. The game winning goal was scored with :28 seconds remaining in the game by Laszlo Nagy.

Offensively for the Rustlers sophomore Sean Grab scored a game high of 5 goals and Fletcher Norseen added 2 goals of his own.

Golden West will host Saddleback Wednesday, October 16th at 4:00pm for an Orange Empire Conference match up.
