Golden West College defeats Long Beach City College to win their 23rd State Title.  The Rustlers have won 5 of the past 7 State Titles. 

Golden West would strike first on a counter attack goal by Dalton Kenefick to put the Rustlers up 1-0.  The Rustlers held Long Beach City scoreless in the opening period for the second straight game. 

The Rustlers would increase their lead to 2-0 on a power play goal by Gabriel Goncalves.  Long Beach would finally strike on a cross pass that reduce the lead to one, 2-1.  The game would go into halftime with the Rustlers up 2-1.

In the third, the Rustlers would extend their lead 3-1 when Reed Cotterell made a sweeping move from 2 meters, with a strong-side step out to put it past the Viking Goalkeeper.  Once again the Rustlers would hold Long Beach City scoreless in the third period.  

Golden West would put up two more goals in the fourth period to extend their lead 5-1.  Dalton Kenefick would strike again on a cross-pass late on the shot clock, and Reed Cotterell would score from 6 meters on a powerplay.  Long Beach would earn a 5-meter penalty late in the game to give them their second goals of the game with seconds left in regulation.

It was Golden West's defense that kept Long Beach at bay.  Holding the Vikings to 2 scoreless periods in the championship game.
