Golden West Advances to State Championship Game

Golden West defeated Northern California's powerhouse West Valley 18-10 in the semifinal game to advance to the State Championship game.

The Rustlers had eight different goal scores as Freshman Connor Paterson lead all scores with four.  Sophomore Dalton Kenefick and Freshman Botond Kadar added three a piece, while Alessandro Valania, Mitchell Holden and Ciaran Wolohan each netted two.  

Freshman Garry Tichy and Sean Newcombe each contributed one.  

Golden West cycled through three goalies in the game:  Freshman Taylor Miller tallied 2 saves, fellow freshman Nicholas Dale totaled 8 saves, and sophomore Bryse Knowles added 2 of his own in the semifinals of the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Water Polo State Championship at Pasadena City College on Friday.

Golden West Collge advances to Saturday's state championship final and will take on rival Long Beach City College at 12:30 p.m. as the Rustlers look towards a trifect as the Orange Empire Conference Champions, SoCal Regional Champions, and one win away from the 2015 State Champions.  The Rustlers look to capture the program's 24th state title. 

The State Championship game will be played at 12:30pm at Pasenda City College tomorrow Saturday, November 21st.
