Valencia, Calif. - Golden West will send two members of the Cross Country team to compete in the California Community College State Cross Country Championships, held at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA on November 22nd.  

For the Women's team, Cynthia Torres has proven herself a contender for the top 10 of the state, finishing in 9th place with a time of 19:18:90 at the So Cal Championships. Her hard work and dedication to the sport is unrivaled, and the proof is in the numbers. Torres finished last year's So Cal Championship race in 56th place, compared to her top 10 ranking of this year. 

On the Men's team, Trey Reza qualified for the California Community College State Cross Country Championships  with his time of 22:52.29, placing 83rd overall. Over 200 runners took on the hill laden 4 mile course, and while this was not Reza's fastest time of the season, it was enough to send him to Fresno for the championships.
