Softball Falls to the Hawks 9-2
Huntington Beach, Calif. – The Rustler's (6-24, 1-12) battled the 2nd place Santiago Canyon College Hawks (27-5, 11-4) in OEC play all the way to the end, losing 9-2.

The Hawks got on the scoreboard right away in top of the 1st on a RBI double by Emili Olague. However, the lady Rustlers were not intimidated and tied the game at 1-1 on a RBI single up the middle by Adriana Barrera (2 for 3, 1RBI) scoring Taylor Clinkaberry (2 for 3, 1 run scored) from third base.

SCC answered right back in the top of the 3rd inning to take the 2-1. Again, the feisty Rustlers would respond in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a double steal that sent Julia Morey to 2nd base and Yairely Vallejo stole home to tie the game at 2 all.

After a scoreless fourth inning, the Hawks got their offense going scoring 4 runs in the top of the 5thinning to take the lead 6-2. Then scoring 3 more in the 7th inning to top the Rustler's 9-2.

NEXT: The Rustler's will play the Fullerton College Hornets in a doubleheader April 6, starting at 3pm. Game 1 is a continuation of a rain delay back on March 11. The originally scheduled game for day will immediately follow the completion of game 1.
