Tigers Take the Win

Huntington Beach, Calif. – Friday night was the last home game for four of our Rustler's (6-31, 1-19) as they battled Riverside City College (15-21, 7-13) to a 9-1 loss in 6 innings.

Sophomore Taylor Clinkaberry (1 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 run scored) provided the only run for the Rustler's with a solo home run in the bottom of the 3rd inning to give the Rustler's their only lead of the game, 1-0. Clinkaberry's blast was her 5th of the season, which is tied for 8th in the Orange Empire Conference. Sophomore Bianca Espinoza (2 for 3) shined in her final home game of the season tailing 2 hits, giving her 10 multi-hit games on the season.

Riverside's ace Laura Mendez really dug in after the 3rd inning giving up only 3 more hits over the next 3 innings. Giving Riverside's offense time to get going in the 5th and 6th innings, where they scored all their runs enforcing the 8 run mercy rule after 6 innings.

NEXT: The Rustler's will end their 2016 season when they travel to Saddleback on Wednesday, April 27 for a 6pm start.
