Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West softball offense was held to only four hits and one run against Orange Coast's two pitchers in their loss Wednesday night, 13-1.
The offense scattered four hits over five innings of play, scoring their lone run in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a ground out RBI by Janelle Watson. Orange Coast came out aggressive offensively building a 10-0 lead before the Rustlers could score their only run, en route to a mercy rule victory in five innings.
Starting pitcher Cami Cohen was charged for the loss as she kept firing in strikes in her four innings of work. She was relieved in the fifth inning by Jennifer Eberhardt who gave up four runs on three hits and two walks.
NEXT: Golden West will look to rebound against OEC's top team, the Cypress College Chargers tomorrow, Thursday March 1st. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
