Softball: First Inning Errors Lead to Tough Loss

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West College softball team took to the diamond against second place Orange Empire Conference foe Santa Ana College and lost 6-2.

Three first inning errors by the Rustler's helped Santa Ana build a 5-0 lead as the first five batter's reached base to start the game. The Dons scattered four hits and walk, while capitalizing on crucial errors that guided them to a win. The Rustler's outplayed Santa Ana from the second inning on, out hitting them over the final six innings with seven hits and out scored them with two runs scored in the sixth inning.

Golden West's offense was highlighted by Jenna Terrones going two for three with a run scored and Janelle Watson going two for three at the plate as well. Starting pitcher Jennifer Eberhardt did all she could as she pitched a complete game surrendering six runs, two of which were earned, over ten hits.
