Huntington Beach, Calif. - Freshman duo Meghan McIntyre and Makaia Smith combined for 42 of the teams 59 points in a 10-point victory over Santa Ana College Tuesday night, 59-49. 

McIntyre recorded a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Smith racked up a season high 20 points and nine rebounds in the Rustlers Orange Empire conference sweep of the Dons. 

Golden West found themselves trailing at the end of the first quarter 12-9 but turned it around as the defense held Santa Ana to four second quarter points to take a 21-16 lead into halftime. The third quarter was the most productive for the Rustlers as they blew open the lead 43-28 to head into the final quarter. 

The Dons did all they could in the fourth quarter to climb back in but the Rustlers always had the answer to hold on and win. 

Golden West is back in action at home on Thursday, February 17 when they take on Cypress at 5pm.
