Women's Soccer Stops Santa Ana

Golden West women's soccer team hit the road and traveled to Santa Ana College for an Orange Empire Conference match where the Rustlers shut the Dons out on their home field 3-0.

The Rustlers (6-6-1, 4-3-1) three goals came behind a 25-5 shot advantage over the Dons. Of those 25 shots, 15 were on frame while the Dons were only able to get three shots on goal.

The Rustlers scored their first goal early in the match in the 12th minute when Katie Fosmire scored on a shot from outside of the box. Fosmire also scored the Rustlers second goal of the game when the Dons (5-8-0, 4-4-0) defense failed to clear the box in the 82nd minute. Golden West's final goal came in injury time when Natalie Diaz headed in Fosmire's corner kick.

Stephanie Hernandez finished the game with 12 saves for the Dons while allowing all three goals while Golden West's Miljana Jocic turned away all three shots she faced.

Golden West travels to Cypress College on Friday (Oct 14) for a 3:00pm start
