Women's Soccer Opens Conference Play Defeating the Dons

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West (2-2-1) defeated Santa Ana 3-1 in their first conference game at home. The Dons (2-4) pressed in on defense, but it was the Rustlers game to win.

The first goal came from Jennifer Munoz who scored on a penalty kick after a foul from a Santa Ana defender. Munoz put the ball in the upper right corner and took the lead in the game. Riding the  momentum to victory, Alina Aviles dripped right side, and took the shot from around 18 yards, scoring on the right side of the goal. The change of the mood on the field was evident in the second half, the Rustlers team work and determination drove them to dominate the Dons.
