Rustlers Send IVC Away with the Win

Rustlers Send IVC Away with the Win

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West fell 2-3 to Irvine Valley at home, maintaining their No. 2 ranking in the Orange Empire Conference. The Rustlers (7-5-4, 6-3-2) were not themselves and the lack of teamwork in the second half gave the Lasers (9-3-2, 6-3-1) the chance to capitolize and take the win.

Golden West pressed the IVC defense early in the game and tried their best to keep the ball up front. Forward Alexis Ramirez had possession of the ball, and with a nice cross and found Jennifer Munoz. Munoz took the ball down the middle and scored the first goal for the Rustlers. Munoz, just minutes later scored again when she ran up on a cross that she was able to connect with putting the Rustlers tied with IVC.

The score was tied going into the half, but Golden West allowed the Lasers a final goal to loose the game. The Rustlers now look to move forward as they start the second round of play within the conference.

Next, the women travel to Cypress for a 3:00pm game time on Tuesday, Oct. 29th.
