W Soccer: Net Four Goals in Back to Back Shutout Wins

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West women's soccer team certainly enjoy their home field advantage as they earned back to back shutout wins at home this weekend in a 4-0 route of the visiting Palomar College Comets.

Sophomore forward got the Ruster's (2-1) on the board in the 17' minute as she headed a perfect crossing pass from Natalie Moreno into the back of the goal for a 1-0 lead. The offense for the Golden West stayed in control of the possessions for majority of the match as they netted their second goal in the 36' minute. This time is Kaylin Cruz with the perfectly timed crossing pass to Kennedy Chavez for the header and a 2-0 lead.

The Rustler's kept the offensive pressure up as they opened the second half with multiple opportunities to extend their lead. Sara Lentini had two great looking headers sail just wide and over top of the goal. It wasn't until Cruz took advantage of a freekick in the 75' minute, did the Rustler's add to their lead 3-0. Cruz again used a freekick in the 90' minute of the match to nail her second goal of the match to solidify the 4-0 victory over the Comets (0-1-1).

NEXT: The Rustlers are on the road to Long Beach City College on Tuesday, September 10th for a 2pm start.
