Huntington Beach, Calif. - The 2017 Orange Empire Conference women's swim championships got underway with Riverside City College holding a small lead over Orange Coast College 247- 222.

Riverside's 200 yard free relay team of Mary Myers, Emily Heighes, Citlali Salazar, and Emily Martin claimed first place with a finish of 1:40.50. Orange Coast's Lucy Lightle, Darian Davis, Sian Davis, and Sini White finished second with a 1:42.76. Golden West would round out the top three with a finish of 1:44.27.

The Orange Coast duo of Sierra Cox and Katya Burjakowsky claimed the top two spots in the 500 yard free with a finish of 5:00.29 and 5:16.57. Cypress's Kayleen Bretz finished third with a time of 5:17.84.

Orange Coast finished first in the 200 yard IM with a 2:14.77 time from Lexi Heylerly. Riverside's Kelly Perez took second with a 2:14.80 time. Darian Davis from Orange Coast claimed third with a 2:18.15 finish.

Samm Crocker for Golden West claimed first place in the 50 yard free with a finish of 23.64. Riverside's Emily Martin and Mary Myers finished second and third with times of 24.70 and 24.75.

The Orange Coast 400 yard medley relay finished first with a 4:06.77 finish by Darian Davis, Lexi Heyerly, Sierra Cox, Sian Davis. Riverside took second with Mary Myers, Emily Martin, Serina Prado, Emily Heighes finishing with a 4:08.45 time. Saddleback would finish third with a time of 4:22.50.

In the 1M Diving Cypress's Alejandra Gomez took first with a score of 239.95 followed by Orange Coast's Kaitlyn Smith with 160.05. Riverside's Morgan Pollard claimed third with a 141.50 score.
