Women’s OEC Swim Championships Day 2 Results

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The 2017 Orange Empire Conference women's swim championships day 2 came to a close with Riverside City College building on their small lead over Orange Coast College 545- 494.

Riverside's 200-yard medley relay team of Mary Myers, Emily Heighes, Citlali Salazar, and Kelly Perez claimed first place with a finish of 1:52.46. Orange Coast's Lucy Lightle, Darian Davis, Lexi Heyerly, and Sierra Cox finished second with a 1:54.04. Saddleback would round out the top three with a finish of 1:55.93.

Orange Coast's Sierra Cox claimed the top spot in the 400 yard IM with a finish of 4:39.37. Kelly Perez from Riverside finished second with 4:51.21 time. Golden West's Melissa Cruz rounded out the top three spots finishing with a time of 5:01.85.

Samm Crocker for Golden West claimed first place in the 100-yard free with a finish of 58.82. Saddleback's Raselle Chetwynd took a close second finish at 1:00.04. Dasha Petrov from Cypress took third with a time of 1:04.14.

Saddleback's Chetwynd finished first in the 200-yard free with a 1:57.39 time. Lexi Heyerly from Orange Coast finished with in a very close second with a 1:57.87. Citlali Salazar from Riverside took third place with 2:00.48.

The next event got Riverside back on top with a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke by Emily Martin with a 1:07.10 time. Evelyn Wang finished second with a time of 1:13.08. Saddlebacks Madeline Alexander rounded out the top three with a 1:16.13.

Riverside's Mary Myers took the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a finish of 58.20. Kailey Banayat from Saddleback stayed close but finished second at 59.98. Orange Coast's Darian Davis finished third at 1:02.24.

The final swim event of the day found Orange Coast's 800-yard free relay team winning a tight one race with a finish of 7.56.52. Riverside came in a close second place at 7:58.67. Saddleback squad took third place with a 8:37.87 finish.

In the 3M Diving Cypress's Alejandra Gomez took first with a score of 277.70 followed by Saddleback's Nicolette Spriggs 218.60 score. Orange Coast's Kaitlyn Smith finished third with 114.00.
