
The Golden West College women's swim team raced in their only home meet of the 2025 season, scoring 143 points across 21 events.
Leading the way for GWC was Zoe Esquivel, who delivered a top-10 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.66, 9th place) and a strong performance in the 50-yard freestyle (28.47, 18th place), improving by 5.4%. Esquivel also competed in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, and 50-yard backstroke, showing versatility across multiple strokes.
Hanna Menyhart made an impact in the 50-yard backstroke, placing 5th with a time of 33.56 (+2.1%), and secured another top-10 finish in the 50-yard butterfly (31.84, 6th place).
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Catherine Le clocked a 1:24.81, improving by 2.6% to take 11th place. She also swam the 100-yard IM (1:19.82, 16th place) and 50-yard butterfly (37.14, 21st place).
Freshman Monet Panter impressed in the long-distance 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 7:09.52 for 15th place. She also competed in the 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly, achieving small improvements in her times.
Nathalia Johnston, Sophie Kresge, and Catherine Le rounded out the team's individual performances with multiple events, contributing valuable points to the team total.
The Rustler swimmers will look to build on this momentum as the season progresses.
