Rustlers Finish Third in OEC Invite

Mission Viejo, CALIF. – The Golden West College women's swim team delivered a solid performance at the Orange Empire Conference Invite #1, held at the Saddleback College Aquatic Center. The Rustlers scored 232 points across 19 events, with two personal bests achieved during the meet.

Leading the way was Hanna Menyhart, who swam a 1:10.74 in the 100-yard backstroke, improving her time by 3.2% and securing a 6th-place finish. She also placed 6th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:32.77) and 13th in the 50-yard freestyle (29.16, +1.4%).

Zoe Esquivel continued to show her strength across multiple strokes, placing 10th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:18.51) and 7th in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:22.43) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:56.75), contributing 366 points to the team total.

Freshman Catherine Le delivered the team's highest placement of the day with a 4th-place finish in the 100-yard IM (1:19.96), while also competing in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:07.69, 9th) and 100-yard backstroke (2:04.56, 14th).

Monet Panter and Nathalia Johnston put up strong performances, with Panter finishing 9th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.08) and 5th in the 100-yard IM (1:21.89). Johnston took 7th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:22.93) and 6th in the 100-yard IM (1:22.67).

While the Rustlers didn't record any season-best times, they will use this meet as a stepping stone for upcoming conference competitions. The team looks ahead to their next challenge, hoping to build on their performances and continue improving throughout the season.
