Women's Track and Field Team Members Take 2nd at OEC Heptathlon

Golden West's Heather Simpson, Tailor Dunigan, and Kristi Perrotta finished 2nd in the Orange Empire Conference's Heptathlon. The women participated in the extraordinary event on Thursday, March 14th and Friday, March 15th at Santa Ana College. 

The Women's Heptathlon is a combined event consisting of the following seven events: 100m hurdles, High jump, Shot put, 200m dash, Long jump, Javelin throw and the 800m dash.  

Dunigan placed 3rd in the Heptathlon with 3,968 total points for the event. She took first place in 100m Hurdles with a time of 16.09 seconds and second place in the Long Jump, with a distance of 4.91m.

Perrotta finished in 6th place overall and placed 2nd in the 800m dash right on the heals of teammate, her time was 2:30.07.

Simpson finished 8th overall, and placed 1st in both the 200m dash with a time of 25.81 and 800m dash with a time of 2:28.78.
