Modesto, Calif. - Freshman Ariana Grum wins the 3C2A State Championship title in the shot put.

Coming into the competition ranked fifth in the state, she threw personal bests on four of her six throws to clinch the title.  Her final throw of the competition was her best, 13.35m.  She ranks in the top 10 shot putters in CCCAA state meet history. 

Also, earning All-American honors was Sophomore Marikay Schwab. Schwab finished third in the 5000m run.  This season, Schwab broke GWC's school records in both the 1500m (4:39.06) and the 5000m (17:19.42).  She will be attending CSULB where she has earned a full athletics scholarship.
