One of Mt. SAC's big wins in determining its higher seed was a sweep over the Rustlers back in September.

Golden West has since turned into a formidable power and the Orange Empire Conference champions extended its winning streak to 17 consecutive matches with the 4‐game road victory.

For the Mounties, Jen Silva fired 15 kills, Saleen Sanchez 13 kills, and All‐State choice Erica Chavez had 12 kills (.390 percentage). Sandra Gutierrez added 8 blocks. Of the four remaining South teams, Golden West is the only one remaining from the OEC.

Four different conferences are represented in the regional finals, including the South Coast (El Camino), Western State (LA Pierce) and Pacific Coast Athletic (Grossmont) leagues. The four teams are all conference champions.
