Women's Volleyball Advance To Regional Finals

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West's women's volleyball will play to advance to the state finals Tuesday, Nov. 27th after defeating No. 14 Antelope Valley (25-7, 25-17, 25-21) Tuesday, and No. 6 San Diego Mesa (25-23, 25-23, 25-22) on Saturday.  

The women made quick work of their victory against Antelope Valley, only allowing seven points in their first set.  Alicia Utke had three aces and delivered nine kills, Bethanee Boggs finished with 16 kills and 11 digs.  The team finished the first round game with a total of 49 kills, 7 aces and 4 solo blocks. 

Golden West had to work a little harder for their win against San Diego Mesa, winning two sets by a mere two points. Talia DeFalco and Saelina Dunn served two aces apiece, Dunn finishing the game with 10 kills and 14 digs and De Falco with 8 digs and 4 assists. 

Their final game of the regional contest for CCCAA state playoffs will be on the road against No. 2 Bakersfield at 7:00 pm.
