The Rustlers Finish Riverside in 4

Golden West continued in their winning ways, defeating  host Riverside City College 3-1. The Rustlers (12-0, 6-0) are ranked the No. 3 team in the state and No. 2 in the conference. Set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-11.  

GoldenWest was led by freshman outside hitter Jordyn Sanchez, who had 23 kills and 16 digs, and freshman outside hitter Tyler Davis, who had 19 kills of her own. Freshman setter Taylor Packer finished the match with 35 assists, Janessa Brown tallied 19 assists in the third set for herself.  

In the first set, Riverside built a steady lead en route to the 22-25 win over the Ruslters. The second set, Golden West re-focused and won, the set 25-18.  The third set featured six ties. Riverside led, 24-20, but Golden West rallied for a 24-24 ties. There were ties at 25, 26, and 27, before the Rustlers pulled out a 29-27 win. The final set saw Golden West lead from start to finish and cruise to 25-11 win. GWC hit .545 (15 kills, three errors, 22 attack attempts), while RCC hit .100 (five kills, three errors, 20 attack attempts).
