Another home sweep for Golden West

Explosive offense and consistent all-around play helped Golden West return to the win column with a 25-16, 25-10, 25-12 sweep over Saddleback at home.

Golden West (15-3, 9-3) almost never trailed and kept its offensive attack going with consistent play from the front row. This match saw three Rustlers earn double-digit kills.

The duo of Jordyn Sanchez and Tyler Davis recorded 15 kills and 12 kills respectively. Both ladies also had great hitting percentages, .407 for Davis and .406 for Sanchez.

Drucilla Gauta celebrated her birthday today and had a great match earning 14 kills to go along with an incredible .667 hitting percentage. All together, The Rustlers recorded 55 kills and had a fantastic .458 hitting percentage.

Great offense comes with great defense and libero Kelynn Mullally was solid as usual with a team leading 14 digs. Also contributing to the defensive effort was Rancho Alamitos talent Janessa Brown, who was penciled in at setter. She took full advantage of her opportunity to play recording 12 digs and also aided the offensive attack with 47 assists.

Saddleback (6-13, 2-10) was Golden West's latest sweep victim at home. Out of the six home matches played, The Rustlers have earned a sweep in four of them. Golden West's sweep total on the season is now seven and improve to 5-1 overall at home.

Golden West will look for its eighth sweep on Friday, Nov. 15 in the final home match of the season against Riverside. The final match of the regular season will be at Irvine Valley on Wednesday Nov. 20.
