Huntington Beach, Calif.- Golden West opened their first women's volleyball match of the season with a 3-0 sweep over San Diego City College. The Rustlers, giving the entire bench playing time over the 3 sets, never let the lead slip to the visiting Knights over the course of the match (25-20, 25-20, 25-14).

Starting the season strong in stats for Golden West, freshman Cassidy Paperny sent 12 kills over the net and put up 3 solo blocks, with 1 assist.  Kelsey Osgood served up 3 aces, with teammates Kate Stanjevich and Breana Torres each sending 2 of their own over. Stanjevich led with 13 assists and Megan Sanchez added 12 of her own. 

The Rustlers will be on the road for the rest of the month, and return Friday, October 2nd at 6:00PM in thier first Orange Empire Conference match up against Riverside City College.
