W Volleyball: Win in 5 Sets to Stay Undefeated

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West women's volleyball team remained undefeated with it's second five set win of the season over an undefeated San Diego City College (6-1) on Wednesday. 

The Rustlers won in a highly contested five set match 21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 14-25, 15-12 that lasted just under two hours and saw each team trade good scoring runs.

Golden West (2-0) was led by sophomore outside hitter Holly Hennessy with 15 kills, freshman outside hitter Madison Holmes with 14 kills and a block, and sophomore opposite hitter Nikol Powers with 9 kills and 3 solo blocks. 

Freshman setter Sophia Peterson tallied a team high 32 assists to help the Rustler's earn their second win of the season. 

The Rustlers will travel to Ventura College this Friday, September 7th to take on Bakersfield at 3pm and host Ventura at 6pm in the Pirate Classic Quad.
