Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Golden West women's volleyball team hosted the #1 ranked volleyball team in the latest CCCAA poll, Irvine Valley College, and lost 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-17.) 

The Rustlers played tough to start the first set as they held the lead early and kept it close through the middle part of the set, before Irvine Valley went on a run to win the the first set 25-15.

Freshman setter Sophia Peterson led the Rustlers with 10 assists and freshman middle blocker Jennifer Juarez recorded the teams lone solo block. As a team, Golden West recorded 15 kills against a much larger and skilled Irvine team. 

NEXT: Golden West will travel to Riverside City College on Friday, September 21st for a 6pm start.
